“I AM” by DAVID CROWDER

~ Lyrics ~
There’s no space that His love can’t reach
There’s no place where we can’t’ find peace
There’s no end to amazing grace

Take me in with Your arms spread wide
Take me in like an orphan child
Never let go
Never leave my side

I am, holding on to You
I am, holding on to You
In the middle of the storm
I am holding on
I am

Love like this
Oh my God to find
I am overwhelmed
With a joy divine
Love like this sets our hearts on fire

This is my resurrection song
This is my hallelujah come
This is why it’s to You I run

There’s no space that His love can’t reach
There’s no place where we can’t find peace
There’s no end to amazing grace

There are an unlimited number of things people attach themselves to, feel secure in, or put in the center of their lives. Holding on to anything earthly, materialistic, or ephemeral is like trying to hold on to a passing gust of wind—there is nothing to hold on to. It will slip between your fingers and you will be left empty handed holding nothing.

“I Am” is a powerful song about the resolve we are to have to hold on to God with everything we’ve got. While the world rages around us and we are caught in the storm, we will never be helpless if we are holding on to him.

Hebrews 10:23 ESV
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

What draws me to hold on to God is his great love and steadfast faithfulness to always be who he is; a love that knows no limits; a love that overlooks our faults; a love that sees past our frailty and imperfections; a love that sets our hearts on fire even when we do not feel like letting them burn; a love that can and will never fail.

I sing this song often to remind myself that no matter how big the wave or how long the rain, I must never let go – I refuse to let go! With him there is always love and peace. This is why it is to you I run Lord.

I pray that I will always look to you Lord and hold on even if I am tired, have abrasions on my hands, and my fingers are bleeding. Give me the strength to hold on to you through it all for there is no end to your amazing grace!

Deuteronomy 10:20-21 ESV
You shall fear the Lord your God. You shall serve him and hold fast to him, and by his name you shall swear. He is your praise. He is your God, who has done for you these great and terrifying things that your eyes have seen.
