Jerry,

Do you believe God is really that small that can't bring prosperity to His children? I do remember a quote from a great man "It is the absolute will of God, for every man to be released from every prison that binds and encases..." Is financial freedom a prison for most people? YES! and let's not talk about healing as Jesus Christ has already payed for our healing and all we need is to claim it,. A lot of people say "Well! Whatever you pray for has to be according to The Word" Mark 11:24 is The Word the last time I checked... "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." What part of the words "What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them" is hard to understand? The context? Be my guest and you read it for yourself. We can all agree God is a SUPERNATURAL God, His standard is abundance, remember the stars? The promise to Israel? The promise to the children of Israel? (Milk and Honey? Houses that needed not to be build?) How about Jesus Christ and what he payed for? ALL humanity to have the opportunity to become born again? Come on, The truth and curacy of the Word cannot be minimized by unfruitful teachers and preachers, because the Word says that it is by their fruit we will know them... So, you can limit God all you want in your own live, and live a live of some 10% of others or you can let the creator of heavens and earth and everything in it to prosper you as the SUPERNATURAL father that He is... Salvation has nothing to do with your works, but by the confession of your mouth and the believe in your hearth that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead... and you think abundance and prosperity are so much complicated for God to accomplish? I mean I can go for another 20 hours showing you from the Word in accuracy the amazing things that can do for people, why is there a need to keep people stupid and ignorant about the greatness of God's power? My brother, it is time for the believer to believe and to show that God is a mighty God, the time for a Christian to live in poverty and in mediocrity has to come to an end. Jesus Christ will come back one day and all of it will be vanished, until them we are the example of prosperity, healing, love, mercy, grace, righteousness and everything that we are made in Christ. There is always going to be wrong doctrine in the world, but fruits that are truth and can be seen from afar, cannot be denied. I suggest for you to wake up.

Whoa whoa slow down cowboy :)

So when one believes in Romans 10:9-10, is their salvation instantaneous from their believing or is it more of a grey area taking however long God thinks it should take before the spirit is filled within them? If it is instantaneous then is that the only time in the entire bible where believing has a direct result?

What about free will? "Choose life" (deuteronomy) or choose death? Free will has something that a lot of believers don't think about and that is "discretion". We can choose to believe by our actions for good health and success in life or have unbelief and start convincing ourselves that we will die soon or give up on sickness. Even God has free will "for God so loved the world that he gave....no one forced God to give". Even God has discretion which is a part of free will "the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people...above all the people upon the face of the earth" (Deut 7:6)..."The issue with a statement like this "What PG does is point the finger at the Christian like they are the bottleneck preventing God’s goodness from shining down upon them" is that the opposite is quite true in many cases. Few christians talk about what they may or may not be holding onto in their mind as no one wants to be honest about what things that could be dark (whether they know it or not) could be having a direct effect on their lives. Such as David who committed adultry and the consequences went down to his own children. Even in the new testament note how Paul speaks to this in I Corinthians 11:29-30. Notice in Acts 2:43 "and many wonders and signs were done by the Apostles (not God). There is something to be said about our free will choice to mentally hold our thoughts to what the bible says about "beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health" and not have at least some kind of positive result. Could this be why in Romans 12:2 "be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind"... and notice it doesn't say "let God transform your mind". We know this since love can't even function at all without free will so it must be a desire and belief of ones own heart that brings results in life when lined up with the bible. I'm not talking about everything you mention about saying "i'm gonna believe for a new million dollar mansion so I expect to get it instantly" as I don't agree with those teachings, I'm simply talking about praying and believing for good positive "results" and believing for those results to come from God AFTER I take whatever believing action steps I can WHETHER or not those steps are 100% on par with what God knows will meet the need. Why do we even pray? If God already knows what will be the best for us? Well, it's because it builds believing that we have a God that can delivers results regardless of what those results may be as we trust whatever they are they are what's best from God.

Last time I checked the Greek in III John 2, prosper implies "to succeed in business affairs" which does include money or whatever that may be to help business succeed..and Health meaning to be sound and healthy. But both of those are besides the point as the entire verse isn't even in the Pauline epistles which I assumed were the only ones directly meant for believers now.

The law of believing stating "what you believe you will receive" is completely lost in the minds of christians today. The context of that phrase that a lot of christians don't understand is that there are two sides of believing...faith and fear.. positive and negative. That's all that phrase means. It doesn't mean when you believe you will have a billion dollars tomorrow, you will get it. Faith for believers is a spiritual quality that came through Jesus Christ (Gal 3:23)..."but before faith came (before having the spiritual quality to believe God and His word as trustworthy). The law of believing = for everyone. Faith = for born again ones. But God places salvation on something that is super basic and that is the basic law of believing. Anyone can do it when they confess, even an unbeliever.

I do question the line "he will respond by allowing us to experience pain and sorrow and give us strength or understanding in order to persevere through the trial" What is the biblical context of God allowing us to experience pain and sorrow? Where do pain and sorrow come from? The allowance of our own minds to dwell on the very temptation? (James 1:14).
